pachadesign are Glenn Rushbrooke & Samantha Robb, a design/make partnership based on the border of Devon & Cornwall, specialising in contemporary furniture & accessories from locally sourced reclaimed and natural resources. The word pacha, meaning green/pure, was chosen to represent their eco-friendly attitude and their passion for using materials often seen as waste.
Much of their work evolves from a simplistic approach to design and the materials that they use, combining pared down aesthetics with the Japanese view of beauty in imperfection (wabi-sabi). Materials are chosen for their flaws – wood with knots & cracks, weathered & discoloured slate and metal in various stages of rust. They are very much inspired by the natural state of decay & rawness of these materials, yet use them to produce pieces with clean lines and a modern feel.
